Cistermiser at the forefront of water and energy savings
March 04th 2008

Cistermiser, for over 30 years at the forefront in the manufacture and supply of solutions for the treatment and management of water usage in buildings, has established an enviable record for providing washroom solutions that minimise water consumption and ensure the smooth running of hygienic washrooms. The use of urinal flush control valves pioneered by Cistermiser that control the filling and operation of automatic cisterns can, it is generally accepted, reduce water usage in auto-flush installations by 80%, with a payback period on investment costs of just six months.

Cistermiser also offers Combimate, the domestic scale prevention system. Continuing research and development has led to the recent introduction of infrared hands-free washroom equipment, upgrading and extending Cistermiser’s existing market leading range.

Direct Flush Accessible (DFA) and Direct Flush Discreet (DFD) are mains flushing urinal valves that provide automatic flushing of individual urinal bowls, a water saving alternative to the traditional system that flushes all bowls irrespective of use. Flush volume is programmable, with a default setting of 0.5ltr/flush compared to the 9ltr/flush of the average urinal cistern, enabling customisation and further minimising water consumption. These valves improve washroom hygiene, save water and as they qualify for Enhanced Capital Allowances, their purchase and installation cost is fully tax deductible against profits in the year of purchase.

Easyflush (EF) is a combined flush and inlet WC valve, operated by the user bringing a hand close to a single infrared sensor. The unique Easyflush dual flush capability provides either a full or user-adjustable part flush, determined by the time the hand is in front of the sensor.

At normally 3 or 4ltr/flush, the part flush, the default setting, achieves significant water economies when compared to the more general 6 or 9ltr/flush. Easyflush is an easy retrofit for all cistern valves, whether exposed or concealed, especially Doc M packs. Ideal for use in public buildings and facilities for the elderly or less able-bodied, Easyflush is WRAS approved and qualifies for Enhanced Capital Allowance, offering a cost effective and major contribution to water savings.

Completing the hands-free range,Novatap is a chrome basin spout, with integral components that prevent water wastage from dripping taps or from taps that are not fully closed, restricting flow to 5ltr/min while still providing a firm body of water.Novatap is ideal for public buildings and for use by people who find conventional operation difficult.

All Cistermiser electronic products come with both mains and battery installation options in the same box as standard. Complementary accessories simplify and enhance their installation and operation. In particular, an Infrared Configuration Unit (ICU) permits remote configuration of Direct Flush, Easyflush and Novatap, ideal for multiple product installations, with a timed Cleaning Mode capability. As they are no-touch, with any moving parts concealed, the hands-free products in the Cistermiser range significantly reduce the risk of cross-contamination and vandalism.
